Wir testen zum ersten Mal die niederen G\u00e4nge und schicken Hubert auf eine Piste, die sich im Nachhinein als geschlossen rausstellt. Kleine Wanderwege im Wald laden zu einem Spaziergang ein. Leider sehen wir nur wenig V\u00f6gel daf\u00fcr um so mehr H\u00f6rnchen. Trotzdem finden wir \u00fcberall um den National Park rum sch\u00f6ne Stellpl\u00e4tze, wir sind einfach nicht so oft alleine. Auf kleinen nicht so \u00fcberlaufenen Wanderung- und Spazierwegen, lernen wir viel \u00fcber die Flora und Fauna des Parks. Wir sehen Orchideen und Fleischfressende Pflanzen, treffen viele Touristen auf erfolgloser Elch Suche, w\u00e4hrend wir in den ersten 2 Tagen schon 5 (Simon 6) Begegnungen mit Elchen haben. Ein junges Weibchen verirrt sich sogar direkt vor uns auf den Wanderweg. Ein Bulle trinkt gem\u00fctlich im See w\u00e4hrend wir auf dem Steg die Sonne geniessen, fast h\u00e4tten wir ihn verschlafen, haben wir uns doch grade ausgestreckt und die Augen geschlossen. 1 M\u00e4nnchen sehen wir schon von der Strasse aus und k\u00f6nnen beobachten, wie er durch einen ganzen See schwimmt um zum Weibchen auf der anderen Seite zu kommen. Strumpfbandnattern zeigen sich uns sehr h\u00e4ufig in verschieden Farben und manche k\u00f6nnen wir lange fotografieren und filmen. So wie der meiste Teil vom besiedelten Kanada ist auch dieser Teil sehr bewaldet und es ist manchmal schwierig Wildtiere zu entdecken selbst wenn man sie h\u00f6rt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure im Insel-Inneren geben uns ein bisschen Ruhe vor den Touristen aber das Wetter spielt nicht so richtig mit. Die Bucht, in der Carbot einst mit seinem Sohn gelandet ist, ist eher unspektakul\u00e4r aber wir waren da \ud83d\ude09. Wir \u00fcbernachten in der N\u00e4he und fahren am Morgen nochmal dorthin. \u00d6stlich von Sydney (die Einheimischen behaupten, dass der ein oder andere Tourist schon ausversehen hier hin, statt nach Australien geflogen ist) finden wir Str\u00e4nde mit verschiedensten Limikolen und M\u00f6wen. Einen Sandpiper kann ich einfangen, da er einen gebrochenen Fl\u00fcgel hat. Wir \u00fcberlegen, ob wir ihn erl\u00f6sen, der Natur ihren Lauf lassen oder versuchen sollen ihn zu retten. Da wir nicht wissen um welche Art mit welchem Gef\u00e4hrdungsstatus es sich handelt, versuchen wir letzteres. Eine Einheimische organisiert uns die M\u00f6glichkeit den keinen Vogel in eine Tierarztpraxis nach Sydney zu bringen. Hier wird er am n\u00e4chsten Morgen von einer Auffangstation abgeholt. Leider hat er trotz \u00e4rztlicher Bem\u00fchungen nicht \u00fcberlebt, wie mir die Auffangstation per Mail mitteilt.
